Artist Statement

 Some time ago, I reached a point in my art journey where I had to ask myself “Why?” I was proficient in portraiture and based my career on accuracy and detail, but I didn’t have an apparent reason for making art. In other words, I couldn’t answer the simple question “Why do you create?” Fast forward to now and I have finally found that “Why”. We all need encouragement, peace, comfort, and a reminder that we are not alone. Moreover, we all need beauty and gentleness in our lives.  With this in mind, I decided to branch out from basic portraiture and try my hand at creating pieces that are deeper than just the surface.

My artwork aims to comfort, encourage, and add beauty to the lives of others through the precious promises and character of God. Each painting Highlights encouraging verses and truths of life- specifically that we are not alone and that we do not have to toil all the days of our lives. On the contrary, we can find rest in who He, our heavenly father, is and promises to be to us; Our provider, comforter, source of peace, and our friend.
